On April 24, 2008 the Orphan Works Act (H.R.5889) was introduced in the House by Howard L. Berman [CA-28], Howard Coble [NC-6], John Conyers, Jr. [MI-14], and Lamar Smith [TX-21]. The Senate bill (S.2913) was introduced the same day by Patrick J. Leahy [VT]. The bills provide a limitation on judicial remedies in copyright infringement cases involving orphan works. NTA is studying these bills.
NTA members will find details about the bills and of the activities of our Upholstery Fabrics Committee on our website at www.nationaltextile.org/members/washington/
